Hello! I sent money to a paypal account today, but unfortunately the person I sent it to did not receive the amount. I have a transaction number, the amount was deducted from me. What can I do?

Would help if you said how you sent it ie which paypal option did you select to send the funds?

How did you fund the paypal payment?

Also what does it say on the transaction in your paypal account?

Please answer all 3 if you would like further help.

Hello, @kernowlass

I don't use paypal much, so I hope I'm giving the right answers.
So... I transferred the money from my bank account to the paypal account, and sent the paypal balance to the specified paypal account.
I have transaction id and it says "money sent".
But yesterday they said that they have not received it. I can only think that it might be "delayed" and they will receive it today?

Oh dear, if its saying SENT on your paypal account then it sounds as if you used the friends/family option to send the funds?

Is that correct?

Sorry about the other person posting on your thread, anyway..........

If its marked as SENT then it has successfully completed to the email address you sent it to that is linked to a verified Paypal account.

So if you sent it to the correct email address then they have RECEIVED the funds.

Sadly scammers tell you to send that way ie using friends/family and then pretend not to have received the funds as they know that as it was an f/f payment you have no buyer protection and nothing you can do about it to recover your funds.

If it was to a friend or family member then that is fine, get them to check that the email address they gave you was correct without any spelling errors. However if it was to purchase something then you negated your buyer protection and broke paypal rules by using that option unfortunately.

I sent money also on June 29th from my PayPal Balance  for over a thousand dollars, money deducted. Payment never made it to the person stopped after Authorization Hold was sent, Reversal by MetaPay same day but 30 days and going nobody resolved anything. Dispute was useless they closed it with a blanket statement obviously was not why I disputed. I just NOW just NOW a couple hours ago saw the Explain Status option in PayPal Assistance Chat it is said it is being placed on Hold for a "open case" chargeback, or Reversal so PayPal has to have it still on Hold awaiting them to capture it, but they cannot if they cannot move it. So what do I expect now should be the case?
