Payment Declined when using Google pay

Been using Google pay to access my PayPal acct to make purchases(first few went through with no problems), but now keeps getting declined. Paypal problem or google pay problem?

Welcome to PayPal! I'm sorry to hear you've run into some issues making a payment with Google Pay. I'd first recommend making sure your phone number, email address is confirmed, and you have enough money in your PayPal balance to complete the payment. If all of that is set, please reach out to our Customer Support teams by clicking "Contact" at the bottom of any PayPal page for assistance.

I had this problem. Contacted PayPal. They concluded it was being blocked by their security protocols. I was advised to not use it for a few days and it would reset. 1 week later, no change, still have the same problem. So if they give you that answer, ask for another.
