PayPal constantly asks for new cedit or debit card at checkout

I am trying to make a payment to an American company. When I go to the checkout window it constantly tells me to add a credit or debit card. I have a verified card already linked, and when I try to add the card again nothing happens - no SMS is sent out, it just returns to the same window. I have contacted customer support and they can find no issues with the account. I recently tried with a smaller transaction, one which my balance would cover with exactly the same result.

The payment is for a course which starts in a few days time and it is incredibly frustrating to be held back by another bug in PayPal's services.

I'm sorry to hear you've run into some issues making a recent transaction. Have you tried clearing your browser's cache, cookies, and history yet? Sometimes that will fix this issue. If you're still running into road-blocks after that, please reach out to our Customer Support teams by clicking "Contact" at the bottom of any PayPal page for assistance with your purchase.
