Hi, can someone please advise. I sent my friend £70 however it said E-cheque and completion date was 10 days away. So I sent the money again from card which my friend received instantly. 10 days later the e-cheque failed from my bank as I didn’t put any money into my billing account. So despite no money being taken & my friend not getting the £70. PayPal has left me -£70 despite neither of us having lost or received any money, please help

Hello @JMoser98,

Welcome back to our community help forum and thanks for posting!

I understand your concern about the negative balance in your PayPal account. If a payment was paid by bank, a payment to the receiver completes instantly because we fund this on customer's behalf and wait for a bank transaction to clear. If your bank declines your transfer or the transfer is reversed due to technical reasons, we will try to retrieve the money a second time. If we're unable to receive any payment, your account will go to negative.

I would recommend you to review your account activity to check the status of the payment. The transaction would show as failed if the eCheck was failed. If both payments to your friend shows as completed, it means that both are successfully reached your friends account. You can add money to clear the negative balance in your account. For any additional assistance, you can also reach out to our team through the available contact options at the bottom of PayPal page.

I hope this information helps,

Bindu
