I have received 100€ from a family member but only 82€ are available why?

Hi, I received 100€ from a family member but only 82€ are available for me to spend and I don‘t understand why? I have only used Paypal once before so I cannot imagine where the 18€ went? I tried calling the hotline but it says that the number is not available for calling??? Maybe someone can help me thank you!

Hello @Sopvuk123, Welcome to the Community and thanks for posting.

As you received a Friends and Family payment but only had 82€ available, it sounds like your account may have had a negative balance. If your account has a negative balance, the payment you received will top up this negative balance of 18€ and you will then have the remaining 82€ in your balance. 

The negative balance may have occurred if a dispute was opened on your account or a payment from your bank account did not clear through PayPal.
