I got wrong refund amount even seller refunded in full

After canceling a service, seller refunded me in full, but PayPal transferred to my credit card for 45 US$ less than refunded amount.

Exchange rates are the same for payment and refund.

Hi @AR5000,

Welcome to the community and thank you for your post.

I do understand your concern. I can see from your screenshot that the purchase amount is $995.00 USD. If a full refund was issued, then the full $995.00 would have been issued back to your card. As currency conversion rates are constantly changing, the rate would not necessarily be the same for the purchase and the refund. Any rates shown are subject to change based on time and date of the completed transaction.

I hope this helps!

Thank you for answering
The conversion rates is the same and rates USD > AED if changes it change for fraction of cents but not for over 40$ (4%) in a day

Also, I've checked rates which is the same 1 AED = 0,2614 USD.

I got a call from PayPal and they surprised me with a GENEROUS GOOD GESTURE of 10$ .. I told caller that I'm looking for fairness and not for 10$ or 10 thousands and about difficulties to "buy" me like this. Loyalty is not money matter: we are too loyal to Apple even they are charging too much, and Apple users are happy to pay even more.. Why? Simple: great support, honest, respect and fairness

BTW: The 10$ gesture considered as disrespect and not as a "good gesture"

This is NOT my first refund/return for various reasons. Check the picture as an example:

This is correct for any other currency. For AED is not correct: Cannot be 45$ = 4.5% of the amount difference in one day after charging. Maybe you considered me as seller?

If you check any other refund, you will find the payment = refund .. We are using same PayPal rate: I'm buying from you or from seller?

All other refunds are the same exactly as I was charged. Except this.

For me: PayPal is just charging my refund because it's a refund and PayPal wants to make money in anyway. Maybe it's a new policy

Anyhow, I asked to take back your 10$ (good gesture), because I'm not so hungry to money like other, and I asked to close my account. There are thousands of ways to pay online including virtual Credit Cards.
