Entered debit card number instead of bank account number

Entered debit card number instead of bank account number. I’m asking around but customer service isn’t really helpful. What do I do now? I read around and they said that the money will most likely bounce back since it isn’t a bank account. What do I do for the time being?

Hi @Appleashes,

Welcome to the PayPal Community!

I understand you have accidentally used the wrong account number for a transfer. I know that would be alarming to experience! I would like to refer you to your banking institution to speak with the department that works with Electronic Funds Transfers. It's possible that the banking system will still be able to deposit the funds, and contacting the bank can prove to be beneficial so they have communications about the mix-up in account numbers. This process can take up to five business days to compete. In the meantime, you would simply wait for the transfer and reversal to complete back to you. I know it would be preferred to have access to the funds now, however, PayPal must wait for the money to be back into the system for it to disperse into your PayPal balance. Should you have a major issue or inconvenience with this, it would be wise to contact PayPal Customer Support directly. This can be done by clicking on "Contact" at the bottom of the PayPal website. Next, you'll scroll down to review your available support options.

I hope things settle for you quickly!

Thank you,

-Schae
