Someone donated money to our nonprofit charity but sent in an email saying they accidentally over sent and asked us to send back the difference. I am slightly suspicious of the email since it sounds like those bank scams. I want to tell them dispute the charge or somehow reverse the charge without me sending extra funds in case they end up disputing the original charge. Is there a way to submit a request to refund a donation?

Hi @Homeatlast1,
Welcome to the community and thank you for your post.
I do understand your concern with this. Unfortunately, donations cannot be refunded. If you are concerned that this person is not being genuine, I would suggest you stop any contact with them. If you send them the money back as a separate payment, as you said they could then dispute the original transaction. If they have an issue with the transaction, they can contact us directly for assistance.
I hope this helps!
