Cancel a pending payment

I recently tried to make a purchase at hp.com as a guest. When I checked out, I received a warning saying my order couldn't be completed. So, I went back and checked out the info and place it again.

Now I received an email from paypal saying I have two orders from hp that will be filed when it goes through. I went and chatted with hp and they can't locate the orders and want me to place it again. I don't need 3 orders but only one.

I don't see a way on paypal to cancel one or both of the payments and hp says they don't exist. What can I do. TIA

Hello @cyberwasp

Welcome to the PayPal! I'm sorry to hear there's been some confusion on a recent order with HP. I can certainly understand how that could be a bit concerning. I would recommend continuing to work with HP on this one since it may have taken a day or two for HP to get the orders in their system.

On our end, you may be seeing an Order and an Authorization - which may look like two orders, but it's actually only one. You're welcome to reach out to our Customer Support teams as well to see if there are two orders or just one. If there are two orders, HP would be the next call you'd want to make to see if the option to cancel the second order is available.

My apologies for any inconvenience this has caused,
