The card you entered cannot be used for this payment

I have a client attempt to make a payment to me, without having a PayPal account, and they received this error "The card you entered cannot be used for this payment. Please enter a different credit or debit card number." They have used 2 different cards and still get the same message. I have had numerous other customers experiencing the same problem, and cancelling the transaction, presumably never to return again.

I have seen on another post that there is a work around to this problem, but cannot find what the work around is. Can anyone enlighten me? I see that many people are experiencing this problem, and Customer Services have been of no help in resolving it. They are passing the blame on to the customers issuing bank, but this is not the problem.

Call your credit card company... ask them if they're denying your card for PayPal transactions.  If that doesn't result in a satisfactory answer, call PayPal... ask them why your credit card is not being accepted.

To call PayPal, click on the following link to obtain a Web PIN number and the PayPal phone number for your account...
