Money Transfer to Wrong E-Mail Account

On 3/28 I was sending a friend of mine money to help with his rent. I accidentally sent the money to the wrong email address. I've sent a refund request of the same dollar amount. I've sent him e--mails outside of PayPal explaining the situation and asking him to refund/return the money. I have gotten no response from the email address. I called the support center today and was told that I could not get my money back. This is a problem... The way I understand it, from what was told, I cannot get the money returned unless this person contacts me, and sends a refund. PayPal cannot go to the account and return the money. How can I get in touch with the person if they won't respond to my emails, or refund requests from PayPal? From what I can tell, I can't. Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated. If it was 50$ I wouldn't care, but I'm talking $350.

Jakal- Wow, that's a tough situation.  Depending on how the payment was sent, you could possibly file a dispute, but if it was a personal payment, then you wouldn't be able to recover your money.  If the dispute route isn't possible, your only other option would be to try and dispute it with your funding source.  All this provided of course the recipient never responds to you.

Hope everything works out ok.
