E-Checks hold Problem with PayPal

Is there anyone else having an issue with the new E-Check system putting a hold on payments?  I just paid for items that I bought on E-Bay, paid through my bank account (I thought).  That is the choice I made before sending the payment.  Instead it went through with an E-Check that will not be sent to the Seller for 3 to 4 business days.  I called Paypal to cancel the transaction & was told that it not possible.  Also the transaction went through on a credit card that I do not know anything about.  Seems PayPal may have a nasty bug or something, but are not able to fix their own oops!!!!

The echeck is sent instantly to the seller, but it takes 3-5 days to clear.

The seller will be patient - they have no choice in the matter, actually.

My main problem is that E-Check isn't the way I chose to send it. Should have been instant transfer as I chose. And no one can tell who's credit card was contacted to my account.  I finally talked to the Seller & we came to an understanding, but PayPal needs to fess-up to their goofs & fix their systems security.  Besides any good Tech could fix the problems.  They must not have any on board.

I'm baffled. I do not want to send E-Checks to people. I want my Debit Card used. Both are on file with PayPal and have been for ages.

I don't get 'a choice' of how I want to pay when I pay for something on ebay now. Am I supposed to get a choice?

Hate this! One aggravation after another.

Thanks for your help.

If you talk to PayPal, they will tell you that you do have a choice, but in my instance it worked fine the day before but now it sends an E-check with no reason, except that it just defaulted to it.  Call PayPal and complain.  If they get enough flack, they may make someone fix the clitch.

Well, let's go back to the basics;

Do you have a verified bank account attached to your account?

Do you have a verified credit card attached?  Is the expiry date close?  Do you have another CC that you could attach?

Yes I have everything that PayPal requires to send instant payments, but for some reason there was a Credit Card attached to my PayPal account that was not mine and the date was about to expire.  I checked all my credit cards.  It didn't belong to me, but PayPal said it was mine.  I deleted it and then was told that I shoudn't have done that.  It wasn't mine and it was messing up my payments so I took it out.    PayPal needs to get busy and fix their bugs in their system.  Told them I my think twice about paying through PayPal if it happens again.  Who knows whose Credit Card was attached to my PayPal account.
