Sending money for goods and services

I'm about to buy something on gumtree, what is the best way to pay for it to guarantee I'll get my money back if I don't receive the item? Get them to send me an invoice detailing what the item is?

There is no 100% guarantee, paypal give you some protection via buyer protection but you need to read up on that and risk assess your transaction / seller yourself.

You can pay via the goods / services or get the seller to send a money request or send an invoice.

Thanks, its for a ps vita, does it matter if I don't get them to detail what I'm paying for or does paying by goods and services make it just as likely I'll get my money back?

Thank you for posting and welcome to the Community Forum!

When you buy something via PayPal and you pay for Goods and Services, the payment is covered by Buyer Protection. It also won’t harm if you will ask the seller to send you an invoice including details of what you are paying for.

Can you pay for goods and services to an individual using a credit card? Seems it only takes your paypal balance or your connected bank account
