Should I convert my personal paypal account to a business account or start a new one?

I'm setting up a UK eccommerce website for a customer using woocommerce.

In order to use Paypal they need a Business account.

It's a new company, with two partners running it.

Should one of them convert their paypal account to a business one and should we use that one and pay the other partner from proceeds paid into there?

Or should they start a brand new completely seperate Paypal account just for the business with both of their names on it?

Hi RHood,

Thank you for contacting the PayPal Community Forum and welcome as a new member!

I would recommend creating a new Business Account on PayPal, when the account is created only one person can be nominated as the Account Holder and the second partner will need to be added to the account as an alias. To add a secondary member to the Business Account please follow these steps:

1.Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account.
2.Click the 'Profile' icon and then select Profile and Settings.
3.Click My account settings on the left.
4.Next to 'Manage Users', click Get started.
5.Click Add User.
6.Fill in the details, select the appropriate permissions for that user and click Save.
