Buyer's Credit Card and Debit card not going through

My buyers are having problems making the payment on my website. It always gives this error message: The Card you have entered can not be used for this payment, please use a different Debit or Credit card.

 

Almost every buyer is having this problem specially debit cards are not going through at all. (Visa Debit Card)

It does not even attempt to charge the card as my buyers also checked with their banks and they were told that bank can not even see any attempt on the card.

 

For past couple of days this problem has gone up and every person trying to pay is complaining us the same thing. It does not even accept Prepay Visa card which has previoulsy worked I remember.

 

Could any one please answer what is this going on ? Is there some kind of system failure in paypal ?

 

I am using Paypak buy now buttons. My buyers are mostly from US .

No, The problem is still there.

This is really a weird problem. Some times payments made by credit card go through but mostly by Debit cards its rejected and as well as credit card cards.  Last year I remember some people also made payments via Prepay Credit card which they bought from wallmart but I think even they don't work now.

 

This problem often appears in payments fewtimes every year I have noticed and sometimes it rejects everyone .

I am now looking for alternative to paypal as I have contacted paypal on helpline and they want my buyers to call them which is ridiculous but i still made my customer call and Paypal told him it seems to be ok and there is nothing wrong anywhere its just due to security reasons your card was rejected so you may tryu again and guess what .. My customer tried 3 different cards in 4 days and non of them worked,

 

I recently received a payment by credit card but that does not solve the problem coz sometimes it works.

 

Let me know what could be a permenent solution. I have also applied for Virtual Terminal so that payments can be taken over the phone incase buyer has some issues paying online.

Hello, Thank you so much for your support and response.

 

This is to let you know that I again called paypal today to see may be some different person may help me.

Again the same answer I got: Your account is perfectly alright and there seems to be no issue and yoU have been reeiving payments.

NOw I know I have been receiving payments but all of sudden I have started receiving many calls from customers saying that their card is not going through which never happened before and used to happen once in a month may be, but now we are receiving many calls. There must be something wrong or May be paypal made some changes in system which is giving problems, Or the last thing I think of is : paypal trying to force people create paypal account and then pay through that which my customers are doing as a last option told by us. BUT BUT BUT thats not the solution to the problem I have.

 

They say everything is OK ,,,OMG if that is the case then why DEBIT cards are not going through my customers are mostly from US and I have also selected US in my paypal button so that when some one goes to make a payment then US is the default selected country.

 

Do you knwo anything about this company called: Alert Pay its just like paypal and they have been doing good as alternative to paypal.

 

Are you working for PayPal ? If yes then please look into my account thoroughly .

I too am having this proble. My buyer wants to pay me but Paypal won't accept the card. it's about time I found another route I think.

Have you found a solution yet??? we are having the same problem with website standard payments and a couple with virtual terminal with UK customers.

Hi,

 

I have having the similar problem.  Paypal customer service gives the same response verbatim, that my account does not have any problem, I need to ask the customers to check with their bank.

 

I am worried, because so many of my customer payments are pending..

Hi there,

 

Have you customers reported any particular error message that they are getting and are they getting the same error message. If so please post the error code so I can look in to this for you.
