Buyer's Credit Card and Debit card not going through

My buyers are having problems making the payment on my website. It always gives this error message: The Card you have entered can not be used for this payment, please use a different Debit or Credit card.

 

Almost every buyer is having this problem specially debit cards are not going through at all. (Visa Debit Card)

It does not even attempt to charge the card as my buyers also checked with their banks and they were told that bank can not even see any attempt on the card.

 

For past couple of days this problem has gone up and every person trying to pay is complaining us the same thing. It does not even accept Prepay Visa card which has previoulsy worked I remember.

 

Could any one please answer what is this going on ? Is there some kind of system failure in paypal ?

 

I am using Paypak buy now buttons. My buyers are mostly from US .

if this is the "guest checkout" on payments standard or express checkout then you need to read the policy at the bottom of the page.

 

 

There is a max number of attemps per card- also if the card is already on a Paypal account in any way , it will not be processed.

I'm having exactly the same issue!

 

Has anyone found a resolution for this yet as it's costing me customers and causing me a massive headache. Couldm really do with findind a solution urgently!

Hi

 

We've used PayPal for our Euro conference booking website and everything was fine.

 

This year our customers trying to pay for delegates fees with their debit or credit started receiving error like that: 'The Card you have entered can not be used for this payment, please use a different Debit or Credit card'

 

How we suppose to be using PayPal as the payment system when it's not allowing customers to pay with their cards?

 

From what I see in this topic nothing has been explained and the problem still exist.

 

Can please reply ASAP as that's really important issue for Our Business,

We are also experiencing the same problem, a client from US can't pay with his credit cards. He tried 3 different ones (VISA, MasterCard and American Express), also checked with his banks and all is ok. The error is also the same 'The Card you have entered can not be used for this payment, please use a different Debit or Credit card', this client tried for several times but always the same error appeared.

I've just sorted this out with help from Paypal Tech support. The problem was caused because I had not set the email address I used when setting up the payment buttons to "primary" and not confirmed the email address.

 

A simple little glitch caused by the operator (me !)
