Hi,
Our website sells physical music and digital downloads. The margins in digital downloads are very small without paypal taking a massive slice off the top.
We have decided to setup a new business account with paypal as we understand you are allowed 3 accounts. This account has been setup as a micropayment account and our website has been setup to pass payments to this account if they are under a monitery threshold.
The problem we face, as a business we have 1 business bank account. In order to verify our micropayment account so that we don't hit sending/receiving limits we need to link it with a bank account.
So my question is: is our only option to setup another bank account just to verify our micropayment account?
It seems to me that paypal have no solutions as a payment processor for businesses who need to take both micro & macro payments without going to great lengths to find a work around...

Hi Ben88,
The problem we have is we are unable to charge multiple fee structures to a single account, therefore, you need a separate account. As a separate account is needed, another bank is needed.
I hope this information helps you

Sorry guys, but this thread is very similar to my problem and so I thought it better to respond here rather than open a new one 🙂
We have a PayPal Standard account which we use to process subscription monies from a website. Our business bank account is linked to this PayPal account.
We have now launched another website (totally differrent branding) and want to link a PayPal account to it to take subscription payments.
The problem is that we can't link our business bank account to the new PayPal account (already linked to account 1).
How can we operate a single PayPal account with different branding for each website or link two PayPal accounts to a single bank account?

Hi PConnon,
For security your business bank account can only be registered to one PayPal account at any given time.
May I suggest that you explore the option of linking your other website to the same PayPal account. For more information on how to do this I would suggest that you go to our developer website, www.paypaldev.com.
Thanks

I am running into the same problem. My wife has a paypal account she uses mainly for purchases. I have recently started a web based business as well as selling items on ebay. I have been trying to link the account, she used our debit card and i have been trying to use the checking numbers, but havent recieved the deposits yet. I am begining to think that this may be the reason. There is hope tho! As stated in the help section, you can link one bank account to two paypal accounts with "approval". My question is what is this approval? I have already sold items on ebay and have recieved payments, but have no way to get them!!! If I had known it was this hard then I would have went with amazon. I do not want to get another bank account, I have neither time nor patience for that. Plus my wife is working on this business as well, we just want the email addresses seperate.

Hi there,
I have a similar issue regarding multiple bank accounts and was just after some advice really - I am setting up a website for my mother which will predominantly be selling to customers in Denmark. She is based in England but has a Danish bank account.
Would she need to set up 2 Paypal accounts - one accepting payments in DKK to her Danish acc and one in £ to her english account and include these in the different language areas of the site?
Thanks,
Joe
