You can no longer use PayPal

Hello,

This is my first post and unfortunately quite a negative one with my experience with PayPal and I'm looking for some feedback or if others have had the same issue.

I (like many others) use PayPal when the option is there for many things, ESPECIALLY if buying from a website or seller etc I've never dealt with before (after I've established trust then I can move to other methods) but I do this as there is a layer of protection.

I've (unfortunately) come across many dodgy sellers (many good ones as well, many more good than bad) and had to use the buyer protection from time to time.

Now in the latest saga, PayPal refused my claim, because (and I didn't know this) PayPal has a very basic system in place, the seller says they sold something, providers a tracking number and if it says delivered end of story, claim denied.

The issue is, the courier the seller choice gets a lousy 1 out of 5 on trust review, product review and Google reviews for starters just to set the precedent.

Now for the finer details, the courier said the delivered the parcel to my home and provided the tracking, and a picture. All good right? Not even close.

For starters, I was home, even if I wasn't I have a Ring Video Doorbell to let them in my property as I have a code and a security gate. Did he use this? No. Did he even try? No.

So where did he deliver the parcel? Well he delivered it outside my property. Left it on the verge (council land where anyone can legally take anything placed) right beside the bins (so even further it looks like I've thrown it out), now he took pictures of it resting against the fence around the side of my house..... god knows why. So by the time I found it had been delivered (as I had no idea) it was no longer there.

Oh the icing on the cake as well, he signed the parcel (as it was signature on delivery) so it wasn't even my signature.

So the evidence they supplied, as all the above was in the photo the COURIER SENT TO PAYPAL as "evidence" it was delivered and PayPal closed it in their favour..... even when I appealed and gave evidence, they closed it again.... favour of the seller.

I tried directly with the seller as well, first time they said they contacted the courier, no followup from them, contacted them weeks later, asked has there been anything? No (I asked why they didn't let me know, no reply) then they said they will follow up with their manager contact there.... again weeks later again no followup on their part to let me know anything, I contact them again, no response apparently still from the courier.

After this they kept ghosting me, every time I had them on live chat, they would say one moment I'll check what is happening and never come back, happened multiple times before like this before I went to PayPal.

Even the PayPal reps could 100% see my point of view and kept opening it and making notes SPECIFICALLY saying what I mentioned above.... fraud for the fake signature.... not delivered to my property, was left out on the verge on council land etc etc.... didn't matter they kept closing it in the sellers favour.

After about 5 times of trying I'd had enough and called American Express (which have awesome customer service by the way) and straight away saw the same evidence and closed it in my favour.

Now my PayPal has been "Severely limited" it says in part of the email and when you log in it says:

You can no longer use PayPal

At PayPal, we value a safe community for our customers to do business. We've noticed activity in your account that's inconsistent with our User Agreement and therefore can no longer offer you PayPal services.

Bank account and card information linked to your PayPal account can't be removed or used to create a new account. You can still log in and see your account information but you can't send or receive money. Any money in your balance will be held for 180 days, after which we'll email instructions on how to transfer your money.

So all those years of using PayPal, (and it has been MANY, over 10 years?) yes I've used the buyer protection when things have either not arrived or wrong items arrived or damaged etc (always with proof) but now because of using it "too much" (and seriously as I mentioned I have WAY WAY more transactions about 100 normal to another I need to use this service) apparently they are closing my account for good because of what I believe is this latest issue above (as it wasn't cheap, about $1250) but I'm not sure maybe it was a combination.

I shouldn't have to fight for what is right, PayPal should have my back on this, after choosing them, not only as a buyer (as you obviously choose your payment method so the funds go to them whether you pay it or not) and as a seller, this is beyond a joke.

Oh by the way this isn't the first time they've refused a black and white claim (been many years but another expensive item, but that arrived damaged) where they refused it even though the reps on the end of the phone said I Was in the right and I had to again rely on American Express.

It just seems you are talking to people that have half a brain yet your claim or all these other decisions are through people that don't even look at the evidence or common sense? As I've done all the right things, provided all the right evidence yet this is the end result?

Anyone else had this or something similar happen to them? And how did you go about fixing it? As I will speak to a manager (of course they do it just on close of business as well so cannot even call anyone) tomorrow.

I don't like my chances because they route it through another team I guess, not even the person I will have/get to speak to.
