Refund Claim Seller asks the return of the product in China in the condition in which it was delivered from Europe

I opened the refund claim because both the initial product and the second product were delivered with serious functional problems. Actually impossible to use.

I cannot comment on the seller's claim in the Resolution Center, which is impossible to satisfy and indicates bad intent.

1. The seller requests the return to China under the condition that the product was delivered from Europe (Italy)

2. On the eBike website it is written that the return for defective products is free.

A return to China whose costs FAR exceed the cost of the 23 kg product! It is impossible, and I consider this immoral and contrary to consumer protection laws. Maybe I'm wrong.
Please help. If I'm not able to provide the return tracking number to China by 17 Apr 2024, the case will be closed in the seller's favor.
Thank you.

In the event of a dispute you choose your seller and not Paypal so you need to bear in mind possible return trackable costs before you go ahead and buy from that seller / country.

Paypal state this >>
IMPORTANT: You may be required to return the item to the seller or other party we specify as part of the settlement of your claim. PayPal Buyer Protection does not entitle you to reimbursement for the return shipping costs that you may incur.

You also have the option to do a chargeback via your card issuer instead of a Paypal dispute if you funded your Paypal payment via a credit card.

I’m having the same type issue with unethical sellers with a mail back clause. Why does PayPal allow these types of clients?
