Paypal buyer protection is a fraud. I was cheated buy [removed] tried to get help for 3 months and Paypal did nothing to help me. $1399 in the trash buyer protection is a worthless joke. All they did was guarantee motobuys can cheat anyone they want without consequences. Ordered an atv from Motobuys which came defective they hi g me out to dry for months gave them to months to help continually calling emailing text. After 2 months opened a dispute then Motobuys calls and all they care about was pressuring me to close the case, numerous calls pressuring me to close the case. PayPal solution which they said was being fair equally, was telling me i had to pay return shipping. Return shipping is $1147,54. So there idea of buyer protection was telling me to throw thousands of dollars in the trash, and they promise i would get a refund for the atv. So i spent already spent $1399 for a bran new garbage the atv with a supposed 3 month warry, im expected to pay another $1,147.52, to get a refund $1399+$1,14[Removed. Phone #s not permitted] is this joke? Ive been with PayPal over 20 years. Thanks for nothing. Let a company rob me and ruin Christmas and guarantee they can do it to someone else.

For items that are significantly not as described, you are required to return the item at your own expense to get a refund. Some merchants might offer a return label or to pay for the return cost but they must follow through. PayPal cannot force seller to do so and cannot refund more than you originally paid.

I am surprised you got as far as you had with the dispute for an ATV because it’s a vehicle and motorized vehicles are not covered under buyer protection.

There are limitations to the protection, PayPal never claimed it was a 100% guarantee:

If you paid by credit card, see if the transaction is eligible to be disputed with your card issuer.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I talked to PayPal before making the purchase and was assured I could order a worry free if I ever had an issue, And that they would take care of me, And never once With as many times I called about this issue did anyone tell me what you said. The company I bought the ATV from Offers a discount if you paid with cashier's check or money order or a check ect, But I was uncomfortable since I was spending That much And Wanted reassurance that if I had an issue with any purchase That I had buyer protection. Just really angry, How do you give a defective Christmas present, I can understand there being limitations to everything but literally There is absolutely no consequences whatsoever for what they did to me. This is a brand new atv and the company stated it came with the 3 month warranty. They literally sold me garbage did nothing to help me Did not honor their warranty And still have my money. I contacted the credit card company last night Not sure they can really do anything to help either but I guess I'll find out, If I didn't live 1500 miles 1 way from the company I would trailer it there and push it through their Show room window. Maybe I'll make some YouTube videos showing the piece of garbage they sent me and make sure to put their name in it name in it and that if you want to buy for motobuys don't, they send you a [removed] and there's nothing you can do about it And people won't do anything to help you. I even asked if they could do something about compensating for getting it repaired at the authorized dealer. The closest one to me is about 3 hours round trip but they said they're too bucked up for several months to even look at it. The next one is probably 4 and a 1/2 hours round trip and they haven't even gotten back to me yet. PayPal left me out to dry just like the company did. The only thing they did was Add insult to injury. I contacted The Better Business Bureau last night

Last week I just noticed a Paypal transaction from my bank statement that I had paid a company  for a purchase of “digital product 1”.  I don't recall I made that transaction, and don’t know what that “digital product 1” was.  Thus, I contacted the seller via email to request info about what I had bought from them. I emailed them twice, but they never respond.

Plus, I've never received any notifications about that purchase from any online shopping platforms and no shipping info or tracking number regarding that purchase has ever sent to me. I suspect that is an unauthorized transaction, then reported to Paypal and requested a refund.

However, Paypal replied that they've completed a review of the unauthorized activity case, and we’ve determined there was no unauthorized use. They said that transaction was consistent with your PayPal payment history.

That is nonsense. The seller doesn’t respond! The seller didn’t notify me when the item was shipped! No estimated arrival date! No tracking numbers! Tell me what it is if that’s not a scam!

And, in Paypal’s reply, it wrote some hollow boilerplate like “For more information about these cases, log in to your PayPal account and go to the Resolution Centre.” , because after I logged in to the Resolution Centre, disappointingly there was no further details for my info at all.

Paypal DIDN’T protect me!

My problem is solved today(March 22nd, 2022). Btw, I suggest that Paypal should allow frontline customer service personnel to provide buyers more info from their end regarding a suspicious transaction, such as the name of shopping site concerned, which will certainly help buyers figure out what went wrong.
