Payment on hold

Hi.

I received a payment using my mobile number. I received a email to my iTunes email, (that I don’t use and is not linked to my account), saying that  I received the payment but is on hold. I don’t understand as I’ve had an account for years and had hundreds of transactions.

I also can’t see the payment in my PayPal account. 
My mobile number is linked to my account. 
Hopefully someone can help with this.

I understand that you are worried about the notification that you have received. It seems like a spoof email, to verify if the message you received is really from PayPal, log in to your PayPal account securely by typing www.paypal.com into your browser's address bar and going to your Resolution Center. Your Resolution Center will contain information on any account issues we may have contacted you about. If you find the email suspicious, kindly do not click on any links and just forward them to spoof@paypal.com. You can also read more information in this help center article on how to spot fake emails.
