I think I might have been scammed. Next course of action?

I think I might have been scammed. A user on Twitter listed under the username [Removed] ([Removed] on PayPal) said I could pay them $30 to get $2500. I sent them the money and I'm currently awaiting their payment. However, I've heard that these kind of messages can be scams and they could even send me illegal funds. I only gave them my username (my at and my paypal.me; not my e-mail address or password), they've yet to do anything to my account and I can still access it, but I don't know if I should wait and see if they do anything with or to my account. What should I do?

The scam was to get $30 off you if nothing else happened with your account. If you sent the money as friends and family, then you sent the money as a ‘gift’ and negated your purchase protection. If you did send payment as goods and services, you’ll see something about purchase protection and a Report a problem link when you click on the transaction.

PayPal does not ask you to send money upfront in order to receive payment.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
