How to get Pay Pal Back Office to Reinstate Account

We wanted to add my husband's name to my account, which I've had for 20 years. We called Pay Pay Customer Service 9/15/23 to ask if this was possible. The agent walked us through the process, which included uploading a copy of my husband's drivers license. We tried that but found we couldn't add his name to the account, so we said "Okay, we'll leave it as it is, in my name only". After hanging up, we got a Permanent Account Limitation email because now the uploaded husband's driver's license for the account didn't match my name & driver's license. So we called back, talked to another agent, who told us it was a computer generated email message. She told me to write an explanation, upload a copy of my driver's license, and she would send it to what she referred to as the "Back Office" for resolution, since we were only following what Pay Pal had told us to do. She also explained it was impossible to have two names on an account unless it was a Business account, which it isn't. After not hearing from Pay Pal , I called Customer Service on 9/26/23, & was told no one had forwarded it to the "Back Office". This agent said he would, & to keep looking at email for response. I called again on 10/05 & was told it showed as being forwarded to the infamous "Back Office". It is now 10/21/23 and still no response. Any ideas on how long I should keep waiting or others steps to take to get our account reinstated?

It sounds like you're both struggling with limited PayPal accounts; I apologize for the frustration it has caused both of you. I understand that you both still haven't received an update, and you've been reaching out through phone support. I might try a different contact option, such as one of our social media channels. Meghan,

Thank you for your response. We were finally able to get a phone representative to fix the problem and have our Account Limitation removed. I have no idea how it worked this last time, when it hadn't in the past, but we must have got a rep who knew how to fix it or who to send our issue to. We called late one day & the restriction was lifted the next day. To go through all that hassle, making numerous phone calls, while having our account locked for over 2 months, was very frustrating. There needs to be a better system if PayPal wants to be an honest banking alternative for people.
