Estimated case resolution date keeps changing

Filed a case on 16th December - 4 weeks after an item was ordered and 2 weeks after it should have been delivered.

Case moved to 2nd stage of "We are reviewing the information" on 19th December. It is "stuck" at this point.
The estimated case resolution date keeps increasing by a couple of days at a time and is now at 14th Jan.
Seller has not responded to this or any contact.

Online chat do not deal with this as it was via PayPal Credit.
Customer services do not deal with it and all updates will be via the resolution centre.
There is no email address to try.

I seem to be in limbo with this open dispute that has an ever-increasing end date and no way to talk to anyone about why ?

Any ideas folks ?

PS. Item has still not arrived.

Having exactly the same issue. Bought an item that turned out to be fake, seller said he didn't know and agreed to return it if I sent it back. He did this though the PayPal system. I sent it back and added tracking to PayPal. He received the parcel some time ago but the case resolution date keeps being moved back by a couple of days whenever I check it. I am worried that some sort of timer is going to run out and I won't be granted the refund even though I'm sure he has received the parcel.

Same here.  Tracking on parcel stopped on 10 November and the parcel just "disappeared". Escalated to a dispute on 4 December. Paypal timeline says they got the trader's reply on 11 December. Now the resolution date just keeps slipping further and further into January, without notice or update. Send Paypal an email, as there's no phone support.  Reply from customer service was, "We can't tell you why it's been delayed.  Thanks for your patience!"  So over this.

I can only speak from personal experience. I had the same problem of the date moving out each time I checked it. I tried all the ways possible to contact PayPal and Ebay with no response BUT one day after 3 to 4 months the money the refund came through. I still felt robbed as I had to pay return postage to China. I no longer use PayPal for Ebay only for trusted UK suppliers such as Screwfix.

Same here. I got scammed by a seller on ebay for a new graphics card. This person even scammed or hacked the Hermes system with false tracking numbers to the point of saying an item was delivered when it wasn't. As we all know with Hermes you get a seperate text and photo saying proving an item has been delivered which I never received. So I put a claim into the resolution centre explaining all. I get know joy for days, so I phone PayPal and have been told they know of the problem and freeze the money before I gets to the seller. I then get a resolutiuon date of the 1st Jan 21. 2nd Jan no money, check the resolution centre resolution date now 7th Jan, so I phone PayPal again! Once more I get waffle and I am getting very frustrated because I need my payment back as I need a new graphics card asap. They tell me there's not enough in the persons account to send the funds straight back, but wait! They had already told me the funds had been frozen before getting to the seller.

Today I go into the resolution centre the date now is the 8th Jan! What the hell is happening with PayPal? I have trusted this company for many years but now I feel like I am being scammed by PayPal as well. Also a couple of years ago if I spoke to the resolution centre I always got someone in the UK, now every time it's a Indian person in India. India the home of online scam call centres. I check through the community here and see loads about PayPal keep extending resolution dates and not returning peoples money to whom it belongs. They already have all the proof they need and even the seller has admitted responsibilty, come on PayPal return people money.

Same issue, company falsely claimed a package was delivered when the tracking never said it was even shipped. Opened a case on Jan 14th and it has moved dates every week at this point it is at Feb 15th. I used to do business through PayPal and I've never had any issue like this before. Ive contacted customer service many times and nothing seems to be coming from it. I want my nearly $400 back.

Oh wow!!! Glad I found this post.... I got scammed buying a graphics card from eBay £500!!!! Claim submitted with PayPal on the 30th January and guess what every other day the resolution date keeps getting pushed back. We are now at the 18th Feb. No contact, no update nothing. I’ve complained.... 10 years I’ve been on PayPal All my DDs and standing orders mostly go through them, however seriously thinking about ditching them and going direct. POOR SHOW PAYPAL!!

I have had the same thing and it's not due to Christmas or delays (as another poster suggested) because my case is from 27th February, escalated 16th March, it's been extended at least three times now and is nearing 2 months since escalation (Now 6th April), It seems to me they just move the goal posts as they please in the hope that maybe one day I'll get the item or give up, but the item isn't coming because the seller is a fraudster and does not communicate. I am not enouraged to be using Paypal again.

I have been facing the same issue for two months now. I had bought an item from the US and waited for shipping info for a week. Contacted the seller, but no response at all. All of a sudden, the shipping information appeared in PayPal. I checked the tracking number but could not verify the courier. However, I have received and message from the local post office that a parcel have been sent to me from Beijing.  But whenever I check the tracking status, it shows Beijing, meaning that it has not moved. It has been like that for a month. I suspect that this is a scam. I had raised an issue with PayPal, but  they keep pushing back the resolution date. Does anyone at PayPal actually look these sorts of issues?
