Hey guys. Unfortunately I fell victim to the Bussines account scam where I sent £200. I feel stupid but it was too late by the time I realised. I'm just wondering, what are the chances of getting my money back. Obviously I reported the transaction and the dispute has been opened. Does PayPal usually refund for scams like this? Thank uou

I think I nearly fell for this like half an hour ago. Except they sent $39 for a commission I was about to start working on and then an extra $300 because PayPal support said it would get rid of the account limitations or something. They said if I pay $300 as well, we would both get our money back after and that’s what really made me suspicious.

Hello @CiprianCostin93 and @Neonangel,
Congratulations on your first posts in the PayPal Community!
I'm sorry to hear you've both encountered scams recently. I recommend visiting this Help Center article to learn more about common scams. It is a US Help Center article, but the information applies to everyone. Please also visit this article to learn how to spot and report phishing emails.
@CiprianCostin93, if the payment you sent was a Goods & Services transaction, filing an Item Not Received dispute will likely be your best option for a refund. It's highly unlikely the recipient will be able to provide proof of delivery. If the payment was sent as a Friends & Family transaction, you'll need to look into options outside of PayPal for a refund. Friends & Family transactions are intended as gifts for people you know, so they do not have Buyer Protection.
@Neonangel, if you did receive a payment from the person in this situation, I would consider refunding the transaction following these steps. Since you've discovered they are part of a scam, I worry they might try filing a dispute on the payment you received at a later date. If that happens, it could result in you receiving a dispute fee.
I hope this information helps you obtain refunds and prevent future fees; stay safe!
