Account upgraded to business

THIS IS URGENT!! A buyer is sending me $400aud for a purchase but was told I needed to be upgraded to a business account so PayPal said they had to send me an extra $1000 which I have to return in order to receive the agreed $400. Both of us received emails from PayPal informing us of this. HOWEVER, I have no received any money and don’t have $1000 in my bank to return. Please can someone help. I can’t call PayPal as their offices are closed. I’m so stuck. The buyer is demanding money I don’t have. My PayPal account doesn’t show anything either.

DON'T SEND ANYTHING YOU ARE BEING SCAMMED.

THEY ARE NOT A BUYER BUT A SCAMMER AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO UPGRADE TO RECEIVE PAYMENTS LET ALONE PAY UPFRONT !!!

You never pay any upfront fee as a seller.

Ignore scammers that send fake Paypal emails telling you that you need to pay an upfront fee to verify/upgrade/or any other reason to 'accept' a payment....that is not the way Paypal works.

You would certainly never have to send funds via another payment processor/bitcoins/ or tokens/vouchers of any sort.

Any fee is auto deducted by Paypal at the same instant the remainder of the payment is credited to your Paypal account balance.

No funds in your balance = you have not yet been paid, even pending/held payments will still show in your Paypal account activity.
