There was a random $162 deduction in my account without my knowledge. I reported it and their response was it is a consistent transaction and it is not an unauthorized transaction.

Firstly, check if you had a subscription set up and cancel it?
Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > "manage pre-approved payments.''
Secondly if not then Paypal does not cover you for all unauthorised transactions. For example (there are lots of others) if it was as a result of a third party site you belonged to that your account was breached OR it was a result of you enabling someone to access your account ie lost phone or laptop etc OR having a virus on your computer then you would not be covered.
Paypal checks your IP address and history before making any decisions. If you think they were wrong then contact customer services and appeal?
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
