Hi there,

been trying to help a couple people online, seem legit at the time, sent them some money.

I've been thinking maybe one of them was a scammer, I don't really care about losing that money,

but will I get in trouble if the scammer was a criminal scamming my money for crime of any sort?

I need help with answer, thank you community!

Hi @somenobody,

I'm very sorry to hear you may have been scammed. I understand you're concerned about being in trouble, but PayPal is here to ensure your security and protection. Please know that if you receive emails asking you for money, and you suspect them to be fraudulent, you can report them. If the funds were sent as goods and services, then I would suggest filing a dispute. If you have any other questions, you can reach customer support by clicking 'Contact' at the bottom of any PayPal page. Support is also available if you send a DM to @AskPayPal on Twitter or a PM to facebook.com/PayPal.

Thank you for your post!

I hope this helps!
