Why is Paypal website so slow?

Paypal is the slowest website. Especially disputes section. It takes ages for anything to load. Other payment providers - they just fly compared to Paypal. I do understand that architecture is probably way outdated and has not been properly updated for ages - but why? Given all the funds Paypal is generating - why can't they invest in their website?

This happens irrespective of a country I am in or a computer I use.

I'm going to reply to bump this thread. This is NOT THE FIRST thread about PayPal's database speed. It is painfully slow. I only use my PayPal account for customers and vendors who have yet to move on to a more modern system. Once everyone moves away from PayPal, I'll ditch it for good, unless they can hire a good IS director who moves them forward about 10 years on their web application.

Anyone from PayPal actually listening on this forum?

It's so frustrating slow to solve issues in the resolution center. It almost feels like it's intentional. Please do something about the speed, and make a page for fast resolution of related issues. Or at least less clicks per case, cause every click and pageload takes a lifespan.

This has been an issue for quite some time. Not every section is slow to load, but most sections, including the main home page (once you've logged in), sure is. It really does feel like DB speed issues. It feels like a company with far too much traffic hosted behind a shared hosting solution like Hostgator or Bluehost. I know that isn't the case, but it sure does drag like it was. A company like PayPal should have lightning-fast servers. We have been moving a lot of transactions to another gateway over the last year or so because of this. That and how information has become mixed. For example, there are two different sections for subscriptions. Both the old section and the new product/plan subscription section located in the quick links (home page). Both displaying different information. Feels a bit chaotic as of late to keep track of certain things.
