Used Car Parts Buyer Protection?

Hi there hope you can help. Im looking at purchasing a mechanical part for my car (rear limited slip differentialnfor my Lexus IS200) and I was wondering if I/this item would be covered under PayPal's goods and services protection. These parts can sometimes be warn and used to the point where they're essentially worth their weight and I obviously don't want to get ripped off as it's a relatively expensive part. I'm looking to spend about £400-500 on it for reference. If the seller assures me it's all okay and in perfect working order, if I get it and it's defective or just simply doesn't work properly, will PayPal give me a refund for this? Sorry this is quite long but I'm just nervous as I'm a broke uni student and just need my car back on the road. Many thanks for reading, Yours Truly, FCS777

Hi @FCS777,

Welcome to the PayPal Community and thank you for your post!

I do understand your concern with this. When buyers pay with PayPal, PayPal Buyer Protection covers them in case there is a problem. If an item doesn’t arrive or is significantly not as described, PayPal will help buyers get a full refund.

Based on our Buyer Protection Policy, car parts are covered. Therefore, if you receive the item and it is not as described , you will be able to open a dispute with us. Just to let you know, only the car part would be covered, vehicles of any kind are not covered.

I hope this helps!
