Hey, we are running business with PayPal at significant scale and process around 20k sales per month. We keep our Dispute Tier Level in a good standing and we are around 0.5% Dispute Tier Level. However recently we have got the notification that we have to reduce Unauthorized Payment Reversals in next 90 days. If I calculate correctly we had 1.10% last 90 days at the time we got this notification and now 90 days later we have reduced down to 0.90%. We calculate all unauthorized claims + disputes based on transaction date last 90 days. Our problem is that publicly there is no available information what is the threshold we cannot cross (like 1.5% for dispute tier level) and I am worried if something bad can happen with our account. If I looks from VISA fraud monitoring program perspective we should keep our chargeback rate below 0.70% and have less than 100 chargebacks per month and we are safe for this rate since around only 1/2 of all unauthorized payment reversals are direct chargebacks with the bank, other 1/2 is through paypal.
I hope someone can help to understand if our situation is safe or we have to worry about it? When I talk to CS team they say all looks good but at the same time many people have told me that if I cross 1% it can go very bad...
