Transaction, Report It or Leave it Be?

Around September, an ex coworker asked for money from me. I gave them money, but they tried asking for more, but I declined. They promised again & again they would give my money back when they could, but never did. I have texted them to give my money back, only to be ghosted. I want to report this on PayPal, but I'm scared that they won't accept my reasoning and won't solve this problem. They didn't deserve that money, I know I messed up. Should I go through w reporting it, or just leave it be? I really want my money back. They're a full grown adult who asked me for money, someone that is younger than them. Thank you so much for the help, anything helps!!

PayPal only collect debts for PayPal. PayPal has tools you can use to collect a debt such as PayPal invoices or send a money request but the person has to intend to pay you back. You authorized payment and it wasn’t a purchase that you can file a purchase protection claim on. You best bet is to take the person to small claims court. Even with small claims, there has to be an agreement to pay you back. Something in writing or a screenshot of conversation agreeing to pay you back.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
