Someone gained access to my account, changed phone number, email/login, and home address.

I was checking my email when I noticed 3 notifications from Paypal within a minute of each other describing an that account limitations had been lifted, and then my phone number and home address were changed, and then that an email had been added to my account. I then attempted to notify Paypal which required my to log in only to find that whoever had gained access had deleted my email and changed my password, completely blocking me from access to my account. I had to remake a new account in order to contact Paypal support but in the mean time they have access to my account and as far as I can tell I am powerless to stop them. Is there anything that can be done other than deleting my card and notifying my bank? Surely there's a way to get the account shut down or recovered?
Thanks for any help

It’s possible to contact customer services without log in and give them the email address it got changed to and your email address it once was:

  1. https://www.paypal.com/au/smarthelp/contact-us
  2. Click Password and account access.
  3. Click Report unauthorized access or unknown charges.
  4. Click Call Us after the “This information might help” box.
  5. Call customer service number observing their business hours.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
