Sent money I didnt request. How do I protect against a scam and refund them?

I've been sent money completely out of the blue that I didnt request and had almost immediate message from the person saying "mistake can you send it back" with a follow-up email to my personal address. I of course don't want to keep the funds but I'm also unsure if its a scam? I can't talk to the helpdesk until tomorrow morning to ask them to reverse it. How should I protect myself and return the money?

Firstly click on the transaction and see if there was a fee deducted from the payment.

If there was contact the sender and say you are happy to do a part refund minus the fee element as the fee is not returned as part of any refund you make. As it was there mistake then they should pay the fee. Then on that 'details' page scroll to the bottom and use the 'refund' option.

If there was no fee then just go ahead and refund.

Thanks for the swift answer. There was no fee so I found the refund option and sent it back.
