I made a purchase of a pressure sprayer from a company using the Home Depot website page. I thought I was purchasing from Home Depot because I'm familiar with their website. I have bought many items for many years on that website and still do. This was not a imitation or a playing off the Home Depot color and website. This was Home Depot's set up and I was admittedly fooled. I was sent a receipt by this company but as of yet have not been able to get a tracking number or any response or reply from them. I've sent multiple emails to different email accounts. I don't know of anyone using the Home Depot website as a subcontractor or something like that and when I went on to look at the pressure washer on the actual Home Depot side I found it it was about five times more expensive. That was another red flag. I wanted to make sure that I responded quickly and made a case with PayPal which was denied. I guess since I assumed it was a scam and had no direct proof other than red flags that I was being scammed oh, my case was denied. That was a few days back and so I send another email to each address that I had and no response still. I looked up the company and couldn't find anything on them other than being a new business with a hidden owner of the site. Am I being paranoid and does Home Depot use subcontractors or allow businesses to use their website like that and have the Home Depot logo visible and prices that cheap? It just seems too good to be true and I think that I've been scammed. Any help would be appreciated because I've never been in this situation before and don't want to badmouth a business if it's legit. Thanks for any advise...

I had a very similar experience with a vendor using what looked like a Home Depot website advertised in Facebook Marketplace. I purchased the item using PayPal, then received a suspicious email confirmation from a different email address than the one indicated on the website. The confirmation came from The Home Depot with an email address of that ends in 163.com. (PayPal won't allow me to give the full address!) That raised a red flag, so I googled that address and was led to several websites that review scam addresses and found this was one of them. Nonetheless, I immediately responded and told them to cancel the order made just hours before. I have yet to receive a response. On their original email was a link to view the store at https://sx0329-01.myshopline.co/ Here's what you see when you click on that link:
I filed a dispute with PayPal, but under the wrong category so they closed the dispute. When I called the PayPal help center and asked to speak to an agent, I requested the dispute be elevated and explained in detail what had happened. I was transferred to a higher level of customer service and now action is being taken: the vendor is unable to use the funds. If they do not cancel and authorize a refund in 10 days, PayPal will refund me. Call them[Removed. Phone #s not permitted]and talk to an agent to get your case reopened.

I am just in the process of closing my Paypal account because l paid for goods & after 6 weeks they have not been delivered & the so-called-Resolution-Center says they see nothing wrong & basically it was my fault for agreeing to a transaction in the 1st place, SO, no need to use this delinquent form of payments again for me!!!

I did the same thing. Since Paypal is allowing their logo to be used fraudulently with no reprocussions to the scammer, it would seem to make them an accomplice to this scam? You can file a complaint with the FBI internet crime division at IC3.com. Maybe if enough of us complain to the FBI it will get Paypal's attention.

I want to report that PayPal took appropriate action, got the scammer's attention and refunded me well in advance of the 10 day limit. I hope anyone else who experiences something similar is able to work with PayPal to get the issue resolved.
