PayPal fraud

So I had an unauthorized charge. When the charge hit my debit card I got a text from PayPal with a code in it. I knew I hadn’t used my PayPal account in over a week so I looked into it and it was fraud. So now that this charge hit my debit card, did the fraudster have access to my phone and I’m more compromised?!
