PayPal Disputes dismissing my claim

I had 3 requests from my PayPal account for an amount of money from my Bank Account that I did not make. I had been Hacked! I made sure that the balance in my account was lower then the said amounts so they would decline. I then went into my PayPal account and changed the Password, the 2 step sign in process, my security questions and anything else I could change. I thought I was all good. No, I then saw that any money that was deposited into my account was instantly transferred to a bank account that I don't even bank with. It is an Unverified account in my wallet.

I contacted the resolution centre and put in a claim stating that there were transactions, additions, changes that I didn't authorise. They assigned a case and I thought that I would be looked after.

Minutes later I get a resolution saying my case was closed and they see no unauthorised activity on my account... Pardon?

No follow up, no more information. I can't even cancel the transfers.

What do I do now??? Wear the loss of funds and close my PayPal account?

Hello @GameofJones,

Welcome to the PayPal Community! I'm sorry to hear an unauthorized case didn't result as you had expected. I can understand how concerning that must be. Normally, PayPal would consider something unauthorized when someone steals / fraudulently obtains the login information for your PayPal account, uses that information to access your PayPal account, and then sends a payment from your PayPal account.

If this was for some kind of billing agreement or subscription where you had PayPal saved as a funding source, PayPal may not see that as an unauthorized situation.

With that in mind, I'd still recommend reaching out to our Customer Support teams to see if there are any other options available. They may be able to review your cases a bit further and provide additional context that may not have been previously provided. However, please keep in mind they still may not be able to provide a refund for those particular cases.

Best wishes,
