Hello there,

I was a victim of money muling that occurred in PayPal, and now I have a negative balance. Who should I contact regarding this concern? I have all the evidence of the said transaction and would like to request assistance on this matter. Currently, I do not have solid information on how to contact the right representative, and I would like to ask a legal or authorized person on Paypal to reach out to me to help me settle my account that's been compromised. Thank you.

If you used the friends/family option then you sent a 'gift' of money to another person.

You don't ask for gifts back again and Paypal can't force them to refund you OR take action on their account for receiving a 'gift' unfortunately.

If you filed a dispute for 'unauthorised' you were saying your paypal account was hacked and someone else made the transaction, as you made the transaction then of course that dispute would be denied.

You can contact a paypal representative by contacting customer services via help/contact bottom of paypal pages but personally I doubt you will have any luck as you made the transaction willingly yourself.

Hello @Awex_1998,

Welcome to our community help forum and thank you for your post!

I do understand your concern about the negative balance in your PayPal account. If you have any issue with a transaction in your account, please report it in the resolution center of your PayPal account. Here's how to open a dispute :

Go to the Resolution Center and click Report a Problem.
Select the payment and click Continue.
Select the reason for your dispute, such as:
   Issues with your purchase.
   Issues with the Seller.
Billing errors or Issues with subscriptions.
Unauthorized activity in your PayPal account.
Select the option that best describes the issue you're facing and click Continue.

You can also reach out to our team through the available contact options at the bottom of PayPal page or message us through Facebook or Twitter to get this checked further.

I hope this information helps you,

Bindu

Hello @PayPal_Bindu

I received the results of my case using the solution you provided, and this was their response: "Please see the attached file below." It appears that PayPal did not grant my request to check my account for suspicious activity, as it was compromised. Is there a representative at PayPal who can assist me with this urgent matter? Thank you.

Did you make the transaction yourself and were scammed or were you hacked and someone else made the transaction?

Only seems as if paypal feel it was the former in which case you would be responsible and they would not reimburse you.

Hi @kernowlass ,

Thank you for your comment and for expressing your concern regarding this matter.

Unfortunately, I was scammed when I made the transaction, and to make matters worse, I transferred the funds using the "Friends and Family" method. While I am not requesting a reimbursement, I would appreciate any assistance in settling my account by catching the suspect involved in this money muling scheme and holding them responsible for the negative balance, rather than me being held accountable as the victim. Can you please advise if there is a representative on Paypal who can assist me with this matter or will it continue to be ignored, leaving past and future victims to suffer? Yes, we are a lot with the same issue and I hope you can understand my situation.

Talk to you soon.
