Messages Ignored, Wrong Outcome from a Dispute

Below is the text of a message I tried to send to PayPal, clicking send, took me to a page saying sorry this is not avaliable.

So, I'm posting the text here in the hope that it may be seen by someone that understands plain English.

Well let's see if I get a response to this message!

As all my other messages have been ignored.

Let me thank you for kindly loosing me £48.

I was sent wrong goods, NOT ordered in error or any mistake on my part.

Seller offered full refund on return of goods.

I requested postage paid labels to attach and send.

That request was ignored, so I asked PayPal to get involved.

Clearly explained the above and made it very clear that the return should be at the seller’s cost.

I then get a message from you telling me to return the goods and provide tracking numbers!!!!

WHY?

Why is there then no easy way to contact you? at that stage!!!!

Was my writing unclear in some way?

Or was it not read or fully understood.

This will be the 3rd or 4th time I've tried to get an answer to this.

One 1 occasion I phoned and eventually got to speak to someone, the call lasted a few seconds and the line went dead, I expected that I would receive a return call, I did not.

I have used your service for a couple of decades now and always received good service, but this is dire.

Another point, I was asked to return the goods to China, but earlier tracking information was from America.

Site link from Facebook claimed UK stock.

Sadly tat bought via Social Media from mainly China companies are nearly always 'sent' from a depot in your own country' but 'returned to a depot in China'.

That's why if you click on the company that you are purchasing from you will see in their returns policy nothing but an online web contact option and NO return address information or phone number etc.

Secondly if you didn't read paypals buyer protection policy before you started using paypal you would have missed this..........

IMPORTANT: You may be required to return the item to the seller or other party we specify as part of the settlement of your claim. PayPal Buyer Protection does not entitle you to reimbursement for the return shipping costs that you may incur.

Thanks for the reply.

You're correct 20 years back I probably didn't read that, if I did I've totally forgoten.

Even considering that policy I don't see why PayPal couldn't at least ask the seller to respond to my request.

The lack of any viable meaningful way to make contact with PayPal, is annoying, even more so is messages and emails generated via PayPal protocols being completely ignored.

So that's me £48 out of pocket and stuck with 2 dog jackets too small for my dogs.

I can only tell you how it works. However as I said if you funded your paypal payment via a credit card then contact them and try a chargeback?

I started with paypal about 20 years ago but have always known about the fact i have to pay to return things to the seller.

I think that rule needs to be changed.

If a thing was ordered in error on behalf of the buyer, then yes he should pay for the return.

If the seller sends something different from the order that is useless to the buyer, then the seller should cover the cost of his error.

That is simple and fair.

Over the years I've rarely needed to return anything, but if I have and it's either an eBay or Amazon purchase I've been sent printable return labels.

Thanks again for your input kernowlass
