Login issue - someone is using my account

Hello,

In general I haven't used PayPal for several years, but today I decided to log in and when I am trying to go on the step for second authentication - I see a phone number which is not mine and don't see any other option to authenticate - which means that someone is using my account and I have no other option to change phone number for the security code.

Could you please advise?

I was trying to reset my pass, so I read the listed information below how to change it but again I don't see any other option - only a phone call..

Some options will appear so we can proceed with the process of resetting your password:

  • Receiving a phone call
  • Receiving a text message
  • Receive an e-mail
  • Answering security questions
  • Confirm the card number

Thank you in advance!

Thank you for reaching out to us through the Community!

I'm really sorry to hear that someone is using your PayPal account. The best to do in this case is to give our Customer Care a call The agents will help you to get your account back and create a case in case there was unauthorised activity. Please find the contact page on the following link: https://www.paypal.com/smarthelp/contact-us. You need to click on 'Call us' and next, 'Call us as a guest'. You don't need to be logged in to use this feature.
