Hi,

I just got an email from paypal about a purchase of Lenovo laptop and it asked me to call a number in order to cancel it.

The Email didn't contain my full name at the top as usual but seemed from paypal account by all means.

The email header is:

Hello, PayPal user we authorised a Payment of $780.00 to Lenovo Corp charged from you. Call us at [Removed. Phone #s not permitted] for more info. [lenovo email. Removed]

Content was the same with a link to the invoice, which is a link to

https://www.paypal.com/invoice/payerView/details/....

Is it phishing or legit email?

I can't see this in my latest account activity though.

Hello @urielha

Welcome to the PayPal Community Forum! Great catch, this certainly doesn't seem like a legitimate situation from what you've described. I would reocmmend forwarding that email to the address listed in this Help Center article: How do I spot a fake, fraudulent, or phishing PayPal email or website?

I hope that helps!

I couldn't help myself and clicked on the link there,

which led to the Paypal site with an invoice of the laptop with same amount and a status of "cancelled".

It didn't ask me to enter password or something, and I just closed that tab.

I also just got this same email from a scammer. I forwarded it to phishing at paypal. It's a good fake.  I changed my password as well.
