Delaying tactics

I ordered and paid through PayPal shoes advertised on Facebook.  When my PayPal email receipt came through tax had been added which there was no mention of in the advert.  I cancelled immediately but instead of doing what I asked they kept sending emails asking why I had cancelled.  I was well within the 14 days and cancelled before the goods were shipped but due to the delaying tactics the goods got shipped anyway.  They are refusing to refund until they receive the goods back and the shipping cost is down to me, they say, even though I cancelled the order.  The goods are not as advertised. “Air cushion, orthopaedic, diabetic walking shoes”. They are hard, inflexible plastic with no air cushioned inner sole at all just cheap cotton liner stuck onto the plastic moulding! So even had I not cancelled I would have been extremely displeased at paying over £21 for such cheap ru[Removed. Phone #s not permitted]

Sadly that's the issue with buying tat from Social Media as its infested with these scamming China companies.

You can't enforce a cancellation if its an international sale as most of your 'security' is via buying from a UK company where if there is an issue you have the small claims court.

However paypal give you 'some' buyer protection so when you receive the item open a dispute for item received but not as described (or non receipt if you do not get them).

If you lose because the seller provides a fake tracking number then post back here for more advice.
If the item arrives and its not what you ordered / not as described then make sure you change the dispute quickly from non receipt. If the dispute times out before you can change it then contact customer services to open a second dispute for the new reason.

Activate the below link in case you have to return the item at Paypals request if you win a claim.

If that does not work then if you funded your paypal payment via a card then contact your card issuer and see if they will issue a chargeback.

Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
