I sold a motorcycle to a mate who sent me money via friends and family 2 months ago. Today, randomly Paypal decide to refund my mate even though he hasn't raised a case. I didnt realise Paypal refund family and friend payments. I have withdrawn and used the money and my paypal is in a negative balance.

1. How can i stop paypal from putting their grubby fingers into my bank account?

2. how do i reverse this reversal???

Paypal do not open disputes, buyers do, however if it was a chargeback and not a paypal dispute then it would have been opened by the buyer directly via their credit card issuer, that card issuer makes all the decisions on their clients behalf.

All paypal can do is pass on any supplied information from you to that card issuer.

You do not have any seller protection for any type of motor vehicle.

IF the funds were taken from you then they would be returned to the buyer, if they were he could just pay you again surely?

Its against Paypal rules to accept a family / friends payment for selling goods and you risk your Paypal account being limited if you do so.
A buyer would not be able to open a Paypal dispute for non-receipt of item or item not as described as they would have no Paypal buyer protection.

However they can still open a dispute for an unauthorised transaction OR do a chargeback (via their card issuer) and you may well lose as you would have no Paypal seller protection.
