Buyer requesting refund, not responding to claim, buyer has since sold the item elsewhere.

The claim was opened on 11 June 2022.  He requested a partial refund.  I denied this as requested a return of the item.  During this time the buyer messaged me stating that he will not process the claim, and that he has since sold the item that I sold him and it is no longer able to be returned. I uploaded screenshots of our conversation to the claim. The claim states that it is waiting for buyer's response by 27 June 2022 (2 days ago). And no progress has been made, and most likely will not as the buyer believes he should get a refund without returning the item. My account is showing a negative balance. How will this proceed? It is obvious the seller has no interest in continuing this claim.

Did they open a dispute for item received but not as described?

Did they escalate to a claim or is it still a dispute?

Is the date given the date the dispute auto closes or is it the date of the claim review?

I appreciate the response. June 11 - dispute opened by buyer June 15 - seller (me) escalated it to a claim because I did not agree to a partial refund. In the claim details, I requested a return of the item and I will issue a full refund. Since then, the buyer stated he has returned the item. I also uploaded screenshots showing our conversation that shows the buyer has no intentions to return the item and has since sold the item. June 27 - deadline for buyer to respond. The buyer has not responded to the claim. The PayPal flow chart shows “waiting for response from buyer” with an estimated resolution date of 1 July 2022. The flow chart does not show that PayPal is reviewing any information uploaded to the claim. Thanks again. Alex

O.K if paypal find in his favour then he would have to return the item back to you, trackable to prove delivery before he was refunded........as that probably won't happen then the funds should revert back to you.

If Paypal find in your favour then the funds would be returned to you.
