Anyone else had trouble with PayPal's buyer protection 'customized items'

I purchased a jacket with a custom word on it, and supplier sent me the wrong size..
I queried it, no luck so... asked Paypal to sort them out, only for the case to eventually be rejected as 'the item was customized'..
There's a clause in PayPal's "Buyer Protection policy" that apparently "excludes customized items" from protection..
Based on that argument, they could have sent me a FROG with the custom word on it, and Paypal would be happy to allow that!! (as it's customized right!)
The 'customized' clause should NOT override the fact that the wrong item was delivered.
Anyone else been stung with this clause?
Anyone else agree that PayPal should review/correct/clarify this clause?

could easily have been for a set of 20" rims painted black.. What am I gunna do with a set of 13" rims!!

Buyer protection is not a 100% coverall and paypal do not get involved in 'quality' issues, items have to be significantly other than as described ie you bought a jacket and got a jumper.
So it would be between you and the merchant to sort out.
Do you have a small claims court or similar in your country OR if you funded your paypal payment via a credit card then see if they will chargeback for you?

Hi, Size is still a governing factor with nearly any product..
eg: You order yourself a nice set of 20" rims painted black...
You pay for it and get delivered a set of 13" rims.. painted black..
Would you be happy with your purchase?
apparently some think this would be an acceptable .. just a different size! Right..
Paypal - "sorry, not covered... as you asked for them to be black!"
I now have Westpac/Visa on the case..
hopefully they agree that "I wasn't supplied what I ordered" again.. issue was not 'a quality issue' ...is a verya nicea jacket!!
still.. poor form from Paypal.. expected better.
