After partial captures, how to 'unlock' the remaining of preauthorized amount?

In our app, we preauth the total of a cart, for example 100 €

From the cart, we create for example, 3 distinct orders

- item 1: 70€

- item 2: 20 €

- item 3: 10 €

Each item is sold from a different merchant, so

- when merchant 1 evaded item 1 we capture 70 € without using the 'final_capture' flah

- when merchant 2 evaded item 2 we capture 20 € without using the 'final_capture' flah

- merchant 3 says us he cannot ship item, so we need to 'uncapture' the 10 €

How can we do this !?

If we cannot 'uncapture' a specific amount, is there a way to tell paypal that there is no more to capture from our side, to force Paypal to 'free' the authorized amount ?

Hi @realtebo

You should be able to void the remaining authorization amount to "free it up" for the buyer. Regardless of the product you're using, you can make the void call which should release the authorization. While the funds might not immediately be freed up in a customer's bank, it will expedite the process. It just depends on the bank.

I hope that helps!
