Seller failed to pay agreed refund

I purchased an item on the 3 Aug. When it arrived I believed that it was not new and raised the issue with the seller who agreed to a refund of £40.00 to take into account postal costs. This was achieved via eBay's arbitration process and I have all of the e-mails as evidence of the agreement.

Due to both parties taking summer holidays the returning of the item was delayed and was finally sent via Royal Mail Registered delivery on the 8 Sep. Royal mails tracking facility confirms that it was delivered and signed for on the 9 Sep.

Despite further emails to the seller I still have not been refunded the agreed monies. It is now the 23 Sep and I do not believe that the seller is being reasonable.

I have just raised a dispute via Paypal only for it to be closed immediately because it was open for more than 45 days after the transaction date.

What can I do to recover my money?

Hi there Monkfish,

You can try to contact the disputes team in eBay directly on 0800 358 6551 so that they can investigate the issue further on your behalf. You should try and go to the help centre first and then go through the 'Contact Us' link as this should generate a web pin number that you can use when making the call to them.

I hope this information helps Smiley Happy.

David.

if it was achieved via eBay's arbitration process then that's how you'd need to continue with it. If an agreed refund was reached and confirmed by eBay then they should be able to force this if the seller is not coming through on their side

Hi

Sorry for the delay in responding - I am in the military and have been unable to get access to a PC.

Thanks for the way ahead.  I have gone to my eBay account but cannot work out how or re-engage with eBay.  You do not appear to be able to email them.  There are lots of 'how to do' 'what if' type' links but no way of communicating direct.  Any direction/advice would be welcome.

Regards

M
