I'm a little ticked atm.
I bought something and had it refunded the next day and noticed that while the money sure has been taken out of my bank account, I have yet to recieve it back.
I did some research and apparently it can take anywhere between 7-30 days for my refund to go through?
What on earth paypal?
I need my money, why does it get held so long? There is no issue taking it away from me, so give it back already.
This just seems rather ridiculous.

I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one having money refunded back to my checking account. I am so frustrated! HSN refunded my money on 1/13/11 and it still has not shown up back in my checking account. Is there any way I can contact them?? I have tried the online chat (which is canned), email (which does not allow me options to address my situation) and calling (which I have not tried yet and only allows a short time window and requires a passcode and it is a long distance telephone number). I am getting desperate. I can't open a dispute because my transaction is "completed". Once I get this thing settled, I am going to close the account. Does anyone have any words of advice for me?

To all: Checked my e-mail and phone messages last evening.
A call from the Buffalo office of the SAG along with a corresponding e-mail from same revealed they'd been in touch with Pay Pal regarding my complaint.
"Please contact this office if the issue has not been resolved in 48 hours" was the ending sentence.
Logged into my HSBC accont 5 minutes ago and the $111. is back in the account.
Coincidence ?
Regardless, I have learned a valuable lesson.
My hopes are that the rest of you fair as well in the near future.

A telephone # I found on the internet, 1-Login, Click "Contact Us", Click "Customer Service Center", was answered by a human being and hopefully I got an answer to my question. It was a wait of about 10 minutes before I got the human. A similar number I also got on the net, ***-***-**** is a Pizza Hut. I did express my displeasure and will definitely not use this "service" again.
If you get a refund, Paypal will use that balance on the refund to fund any later purchase you have made. If you do show a balance on your Paypal account, you must go into the "withdraw" tab to transfer the money to your checking account. Good luck to you all.

Apparently I am unable to publish the number of the customer service number that I found that actually got me a living person to help me. Curse Paypal. The number is the same as the one that actually got through for Pizza Hut but the area code for the line is ***. If for some reason this, too, fails try doing an internet search for customer service numbers. Oh yeah, press "0" to get to a real person.

Hi everyone, I'll answer you all in this post.
abigailprettyca - Phone numbers aren't published on the forums because they change from time to time, and when a customer logs in or even loads the page without logging in, the best number is determined based on region and call volume balancing. Using the Contact Us link is the best way to ensure that the call is routed to the right center to be handled as quickly as possible.
Jebidiah - Welcome to the forums. I'm sorry that your funds haven't appeared yet. It takes 3-4 business days for movement between PayPal and your U.S. bank, or vice versa.
Ranger63 - I'm glad your funds are now showing in your HSBC account. The settlement of funds is a process that can't be hurried along by PayPal in any way. It was already in progress and occurred in its natural time.
leighk - Welcome to the forums! It is not uncommon for the bank to mark the funds as used in your bank account as soon as they receive the request. The ACH process still takes 3-4 business days, as there are steps between their receipt of the request and our receipt of the funds.
lfruth13 - If it was a credit card, most credit card issuers update the card balance within a couple of days but may take up to a full billing cycle (not typical, but possible). If it was a bank, it will take 3-4 business days for a U.S. bank, or 5-7 days for most other countries. If it was a debit card, the bank may treat it either way.
I hope this helps clarify!

I'm glad I'm not the only person this is happening to. PayPal is a complete joke. Anytime I speak with a live person they just keep repeating they can't do anything about this problem, and apparently none of their managers, supervisors or anyone in the whole GD company. What the **bleep** kind of business are you running, PayPal??? You've virtually robbed me of my $140.00 payment through my bacnk account debit card.
The buyer on eBay was too dumb to have a correct/current email address so I had to cancel the order but it had already gone through and hit my bank account. Just like all of you PayPal had NO PROBLEM taking my money instantly (Yes, Olivia, it instantly was taken from my bank account, no waiting), but they won't give it back to me. PayPal says the transaction was completed and the money was refunded to my account, but like all of you, it hasn't been credited to my account. Now I'm forced to wait until PayPal puts MY money back in my GD account before I can get the item I won and tried to pay for already...which I have already paid for because I still haven't seen my money back yet. Before I make another payment to the seller for this item that I've been soo looking forward to having, I need a full refund from the FIRST time I paid for it. THIS IS SUCH EFFING BULL.
PAYPAL GIVE ME MY GD MONEY BACK RIGHT NOW BEFORE MY LAWYER COMES AFTER IT AND THEN SOME.
