where does money in my paypal go once received?

I am accepting a payment through my paypal account but the only outside account I have linked up to my PayPal is a credit card that I do NOT want the money to post to (I would rather it just sit in my PayPal account).  I was hoping that someone could tell me where received money goes (automatically).  Will the money just sit in my PayPal account unless I choose to transfer it? OR does the money automatically post to a credit card/bank account that is linked to your PayPal account?

Welcome to the boards!

Good news!  It will do exactly as you want it to! 

When a payment is received into a PayPal account, it sits in the balance until it is either spent or withdrawn.  If you choose to withdraw the funds, click on "Withdraw" at the top to see your available options.

I would like just the opposite to occure. I would like the money received in my palpal account to be automatically deposited into my linked bank account. Can this be done, if so how?
