recieving a large payment over PayPal

I am selling a large item on Craigslist and the buyer wishes to pay via PayPal.  The item weighs over 2000 pounds and he wants to provide payment into Paypal and wait for the funds to clear in my account.  Then and only then he will send a delivery truck to pick up item and deliver it to him 600 miles away.  What is the best payment procedure and delivery instructions so as not to get scammed if it is a scam.  I have no proof it is a scam, however I want to be protected as the item is over $10,000.

Never accept paypal for an amount you are unwilling to risk. . With a 2000 pound item worth 10 grand it sounds like a transaction that should be conducted face to face with CASH. . Any excuses why this can't happen sound like the excuses of a scammer. . IMHO of course.

OK if I am understanding you right this person wants to us paypal to pay you correct? And then he wants to make sure the funds clear into your paypal account correct? And once they clear then he himself with send a truck to pick up the item Correct? If this is all correct the only thing I would be looking out for here is that the funds also clear your main banking account before I would allow him to send a truck to pick up anything. Because now days you can't even trust a cashiers check from a bank because they are now even making those as real and they turn out to be fake. I know have had it done to me before. But as long as you don't let your item go before you get the cash you have nothing to really worry about. But make sure you have clear cash that has been cleared in ALL areas
